On May 25, the Shanghai Institute of Space Power-Sources hosted a thematic event to mark the 107th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement. The gathering was held to honor the enduring spirit of the Movement, carry forward the legacy of dedication and struggle, celebrate the vibrancy of youth, and inspire all young members of the Institute to contribute with full energy to the organization's pursuit of high-quality development. Institute Director Zhang Yongli addressed the audience at the event, which was moderated by Party Secretary You Dengfei.
In his speech, Zhang Yongli underscored the importance for young employees to stay firmly committed to their ideals, remain deeply devoted to the nation, and reinforce the Institute's fundamental mission of strengthening national defense. He called on them to cultivate a strong sense of patriotism, faithfully fulfill the mission of military empowerment, carry forward the revolutionary legacy, and shoulder the responsibility for future development. He further encouraged them to confront innovation challenges with courage, adapt to shifting circumstances, and sharpen their capacity to drive reform and achieve breakthroughs. He urged young professionals to be bold in exploring new frontiers, scale new heights in technology, tackle reform challenges with determination, and seize strategic opportunities.
Zhang Yongli pointed out that the Institute's Party Committee should serve as a "guide" for youth growth, be tolerant of the edges and corners of young people, be patient with the process of youth growth, encourage young people to dare to try and experiment, and with an eager thirst for talent, discover, cultivate, and utilize young talent well. The Youth League Committee should serve as a "booster" for youth development, make good use of the "16 Youth Innovation Policies" to fully stimulate the innovative vitality of young people. All Youth League cadres should strive to become "leaders" among young friends, take the lead in becoming business backbones and role models of work style, take the lead in promoting the aerospace spirit and inspiring aerospace youth.
